Description

Mars on Fri 18 Feb 2022.

Slight improvement from two days ago despite more variable conditions this morning.

Managed to tweak capture settings doubling the overall frame count, also took more time with ADC also for better colour adjustment. First fifteen minutes of the session were frustrating as I had difficulty centering and focusing the target, glad it was before seeing has peaked. Took eleven runs out of which three were best, decided not to use WinJUPOS treatment in the end.

My favorite Mars hemisphere is on display here with Mare Erythraeum in the south and Niliacus Lacus in the north. Sinus Meridiani can just be caught setting in the east. Faint outline of Valles Marineris tributaries is also detectable although I am not sure if the feature is real. South Polar Cap dominates high latitudes. Final image resized 150%, centered on 6:24 am AEDT.
